Regular health checks can help identify health risks early and support long-term wellbeing. Our doctors can assist with blood pressure checks, diabetes risk assessment, heart health checks and age-appropriate health screening.
Minor procedures may be performed at the clinic where clinically appropriate. Please advise reception when booking so an appropriate appointment can be arranged.
We offer routine vaccinations for eligible patients, including childhood immunisations, flu vaccinations and other recommended vaccines. Please contact reception to check vaccine availability before booking.
Our doctors can help with mental health concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, sleep issues and emotional wellbeing. Where appropriate, your GP may discuss a mental health care plan and referral options.

Procedural & Treatment Services
Margate Medical Centre provides a broad range of general practice services to support the health and wellbeing of our local community. In addition to everyday GP care, our doctors offer selected procedural and treatment services, including skin checks, Mirena insertion and removal, iron infusions, and medical termination of pregnancy, where clinically appropriate.
Some services require an initial consultation to assess suitability, discuss risks and benefits, arrange any required tests, and provide preparation instructions. Please contact our reception team for appointment availability and fee information.
Our doctors provide personalised weight management plans designed to support long-term health and wellbeing. We focus on sustainable and realistic health outcomes rather than quick fixes.
Services may include: Health and Lifestyle Assessment, Nutrition Guidance, Exercise Recommendations, Management of Weight Related Conditions, Ongoing Monitoring and Support, and Discussion of Medical Treatment Options.
Speak with our reception team to arrange an appointment to discuss your goals.
Regular skin checks are an important part of preventive healthcare, especially in Queensland where sun exposure is high. At Margate Medical Centre, our doctors can assess moles, sun spots and skin lesions, and discuss any changes or concerns you may have noticed.
A skin check may include assessment of suspicious spots, review of changing moles, advice on sun protection and, where appropriate, referral or treatment planning. If a lesion requires further management, our doctors will discuss the next steps with you.
You should consider booking a skin check if you have noticed a new or changing mole, a spot that bleeds or does not heal, a lesion that has changed in size, shape or colour, or if you have a personal or family history of skin cancer.
Call our reception team to book a skin check appointment.
Margate Medical Centre offers Mirena insertion and removal services as part of our women’s health care, subject to doctor availability and clinical suitability.
Mirena is a long-acting contraceptive option that may also be used for certain women’s health concerns, depending on your medical history and individual needs. Our doctors can discuss whether Mirena may be suitable for you, explain the process, answer your questions and arrange appropriate follow-up care.
Patients usually require an initial consultation before insertion to review medical history, discuss options, explain risks and benefits, and provide preparation instructions.
Our Mirena services may include contraception counselling, pre-insertion consultation, Mirena insertion, Mirena removal, replacement planning and follow-up advice.
Please call reception to arrange a consultation and confirm appointment requirements.
Iron deficiency can cause symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, dizziness, shortness of breath, headaches or reduced exercise tolerance. At Margate Medical Centre, our doctors can assess iron levels and discuss treatment options, including iron infusion where clinically appropriate.
An iron infusion may be recommended when oral iron is not suitable, not tolerated, or has not adequately improved iron levels. Before arranging an infusion, our doctors will review your symptoms, medical history and recent blood test results.
Iron infusion appointments may involve review of iron studies and blood results, assessment of suitability, discussion of risks, benefits and alternatives, administration of iron infusion in the clinic, and follow-up testing and ongoing care advice.
Some patients may need a consultation before booking the infusion appointment. Fees may apply for procedures, consumables or non-Medicare services. Please ask reception for details when booking.

Margate Medical Centre provides confidential and supportive care for patients seeking advice about medical termination of pregnancy, subject to doctor availability, clinical suitability and current medical guidelines.
Our doctors can provide non-judgemental pregnancy options counselling, assess your individual circumstances, discuss the medical termination process, explain risks and benefits, and arrange appropriate follow-up care.
An initial consultation is required to confirm suitability. This may include reviewing your medical history, confirming pregnancy dates, arranging blood tests and/or ultrasound if required, and discussing aftercare and support.
Medical termination is not suitable for every patient. Your doctor will discuss your options and help arrange referral to an appropriate service if another type of care is needed.
All consultations are handled with privacy, respect and sensitivity.
Please call reception to book a confidential consultation.
